Hobby Lobby has denied its workers “emergency contraceptives” through its insurance plan such as Plan B. Its insurance for employees is legally required to provide contraceptives under the Affordable Care Act. Hobby Lobby defends itself by saying they are protected under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993 which states that “Government shall not substantially burden a person’s exercise of religion even if the burden results from a rule of general applicability." Sebelius is a Health and Human services politician who is going against Hobby Lobby. Hobby lobby says they have the right to religious freedom and do not support killing life after it is conceived. Paul Clement argues against the Affordable Care Act and also marriage equality. Donald Verilli was the guy who spoke for the government, against Hobby Lobby. Verillli and the Government argued that Hobby Lobby is not a religious organization. They also say that it is the employees own the rights for their health insurance and that Hobby Lobby should not be deciding for them.
I would say nay to hobby lobby because all employees deserve to have contraceptives. Every employee should know that they have a health care foundation supporting them throughout their working history.
